Easy Entertaining: Garlic Infused Olive Oil Dip Appetizer

This is such an easy and quick way to have a little guilty pleasure for unexpected visitors or for a planned soiree. It's super easy and can be used and manipulated in so many ways. Most likely you have the ingredients stocked in the kitchen and it will only take you a matter of minutes to whip up a delicious appetizer!

Serves 4
Ingredients
1/4 of a Good Olive Oil
4-5 cloves of garlic
Red Pepper Flakes
Baguette

Mince your garlic. Remember not all cloves are created equal so add a few more if you like.

Heat olive oil in a small sauce pan on low to medium

Once the olive oil is warm (but not hot, we don't want to fry the garlic)
add the garlic and lower the heat a little bit.

Continually stir the garlic and olive oil just for One minute and remove the pan from the heat.

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes and transfer the garlic infused olive oil to a dish.

Slice your bread and your done!
Super easy and I bet you cant wait to dive in because the aroma this gives to a kitchen is to die for!
This is really good drizzled over vegetables, chicken, or pretty much anything. It can be a dip for pita chips and raw veggies. You can a little bit of fresh ground pepper, lemon pepper, some lemon juice, omit the red pepper flakes... or whatever your taste buds are asking for!

Enjoy and xoxo,

The Little (not so little) Black Dress

As a very soon to be bride, I am in full wedding mode. I purchased my dress about 2 1/2 years ago (I know, can you believe it?!). Fortunately, I love it just as much as the day I bought it, maybe even more! Thank goodness cause that sucker is going to be the most money I ever spend on a single outfit (unless of course I become a queen or something).
I browse daily at different gowns just to see trends and stumbled upon this.
I am not sure what to make of it really. Black wedding gowns.... hmmm.

Vera Wang wanted a new take on white. "I found black to be fresh and tongue in cheek" Vera said“With all the big weddings that happened this year, it was fun to step out of the box.”

What do you think? I LOVE these gowns and evening but for a bride...? Personally, I loved the neutral gowns she did in the past but wearing black as a bride? Bold Move, right? It will be interesting to see how this new collection does.

Enchanted Garden Tea Party Baby Shower

This event consisted some DIY items that I made to put into inventory. Lots of time and effort always pays off in the end and I am so happy how this beautiful baby shower turned out. As my first "events" post, I do apologize for the overload of photos :)

Cut out onezies from various scarp booking papers to match the theme

Beautiful Ruffle Burlap Lamp Shades were super easy and fun to make

The mother to be is an english major and father to be is a professor. tThey loooove Romeo and Juliet so I started the task of making rose balls cut from Romeo and Juliet. My plan was to have these as the centerpieces but once I realized how long this little (not so little) project took me, I decided to do a grouping of various hanging balls. The top is craft paper and the bottom is woven cord wrapped and adorned with pink ribbon.

Since flowers are a bit costly and some events have limited budgets I always prefer to do several different arraignments and scatter them through out the event. So here are a few different styles that added a lot.

This was a tea party and I wanted more than just a few tea bags. I wanted the tea to be a major roll in the design. Mighty Leaf Tea sells some wonderful loose leaf tea so I purchased 4 flavors in bulk and displayed them with a framed description of each tea. The aroma in the room was just amazing!

The centerpieces turned out so cute! Tissue paper balls in galvanized buckets toped with moss and a few paper roses. I added in a burlap curl and a moss baby bunny.

Cupcake Swing! I wish I had a few more photos but the lighting was harsh so they did not turn out that well

The favors were little bags with 3 various tea pouches from Mighty Leaf Tea

Let me know if you have DIY questions, I love to help!

The Party Barbie has begun!

This beautiful adventure started young. I have always loved all thing girly and love to make people smile! I began throwing small events for friends and just thought it was a fun hobbie to do for my loved ones. Until I threw a bridal shower and everyone that attended told me I needed to go into business. I never realized that someone would actually hire me to do this! Well... the ball started rolling and here I am, close to the launch of a company (and new journey) that I would like to share with all of you. My website launch is close, check it out soon at www.thepartybarbie.com
